Empowering Children and Families Through Trauma-Informed Care
East Bay Agency For Children has dedicated over seven decades to addressing systemic inequities and trauma impacting children, youth, and families in Alameda County. Since 1952, we have invested over $22 million annually to create accessible, trauma-informed services that build resilience, aid recovery, and prevent adverse childhood experiences. Our approach prioritizes cultural humility and community-based delivery, with staff primarily from the neighborhoods we serve, ensuring trust and understanding. We operate within a trauma-transformed framework, recognizing how trauma alters worldviews and behaviors. Our comprehensive continuum includes school-based behavioral health, family resource centers, and grief support services.Through the Trauma Transformed Initiative, we collaborate across seven Bay Area counties to improve trauma-informed care systems. We deliver services directly in schools and community hubs to eliminate access barriers. Our work focuses on populations disproportionately affected by poverty, violence, and marginalization. We maintain federal tax-exempt status under EIN 94-1358309, relying on community partnerships and donations to expand our impact. Our commitment to equity drives policy advocacy alongside direct service provision.

Family Resource Centers
Our six neighborhood-based centers offer parenting workshops, crisis intervention, and family stabilization services. Each location provides multilingual staff and culturally tailored resources to build household resilience against poverty-related stressors. Services include case management and connections to essential community resources.
Trauma Transformed Initiative
We coordinate this regional collaborative improving trauma-informed care across seven Bay Area counties. The initiative trains providers, reforms policies, and creates standardized protocols for treating trauma-impacted children. Our leadership shapes systemic changes in mental health service delivery.
Youth Empowerment Services
Our YES program builds leadership skills in adolescents through mentorship and community projects. Participants develop advocacy abilities while addressing local inequities. The curriculum focuses on transforming personal trauma experiences into community improvement actions.
