Discover Czech Culture in Houston
The Czech Center Museum Houston provides unique educational experiences rooted in authentic objects, art, music, and stories of Czechs, Slovaks, and immigrants who sought liberty in America. Our mission inspires people to learn from those who pursued freedom despite oppression, serving as an accessible resource for cultural study and appreciation. We promote art, music, and dance while celebrating immigrant experiences shared by Americans. Expanding knowledge drives our work, with docent-led tours and education programs benefiting K-12 schools, universities, and lifelong learners. As one of Houston's nineteen fine museums, we preserve art, culture, and history while fostering discussions about diverse heritages. Our venue hosts weddings, corporate events, and private parties, supporting exhibitions and community outreach. We welcome diverse audiences through exhibitions, collections, and the Oral History Project. Supported by memberships, donations, and rentals, we ensure accessibility via free parking and public transportation. Our online resources, gift shop, and virtual programs extend our reach beyond physical visits. We invite volunteers to join our mission of celebrating Czech and Slovak history while building community connections.

Educational Programs
Our docent-led educational programs engage K-12 students and university learners through hands-on experiences with Czech cultural artifacts. We offer curriculum-aligned field trips and virtual learning modules that explore immigrant stories and historical contexts. Programs emphasize critical thinking about freedom, democracy, and cultural preservation while meeting state educational standards.
Venue Rentals
Host weddings, corporate events, or private parties in our historic museum spaces. Our rental packages include access to multiple exhibition areas, private dining rooms, and outdoor courtyards. Proceeds directly support museum operations while providing clients with unique cultural backdrops for memorable events in the heart of Houston.
Oral History Project
Preserve and access immigrant family histories through our growing oral history collection. We record, catalog, and digitize personal narratives from Czech and Slovak descendants, creating a permanent archive for researchers and families. The project documents 20th-century migration patterns and personal stories of resilience and adaptation in America.
