We propose bold solutions that will bring us closer to our vision. With over 30 years of experience, we have been transforming food and agriculture systems. Our research and analysis are guided by values of economic and racial justice, environmental sustainability and resilience, and strong democratic institutions. We have earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid Guidestar. Our team is passionate about creating fair and sustainable food, farm, and trade systems. We are committed to our principles, including evidence, public accountability, and human dignity. We work locally and globally at the intersection of policy and practice to ensure fair and sustainable food, farm, and trade systems. Our history is rich with deep experience in the world of food and agriculture, trade, and climate.
We have published numerous articles, hosted webinars, and analyzed farm bills. We have also written regulatory comments and have a strong presence in the media. We are a registered 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. Our mission is to work locally and globally to ensure fair and sustainable food, farm, and trade systems. We envision agriculture, trade, and food systems that are good for people, farmers, and food system workers, ecosystems, and social justice globally. We work with partners to advocate for policy in the public interest at the state, federal, and international level. We provide first-class, accurate analysis, informed by research, science, and lived experience. Our policy advocacy is shaped in close collaboration with social movements, coalitions, and civil society organizations. We work to ensure a strong regulatory framework that protects public health, the environment, workers, and farmers.
