Welcome to Church Of The Advent
Church Of The Advent is a welcoming community rooted in faith, dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections. Our mission centers on worship, service, and inclusivity, guided by the belief that all individuals are fully alive in God and each other. We offer traditional and contemporary worship services, including ASL interpretation, to ensure accessibility for diverse congregants. Our vibrant music program features organ and piano accompaniment, a dedicated choir, and seasonal rehearsals that enrich our liturgical experiences. Community engagement is central to our identity, exemplified through initiatives like the Community Garden, which supports local food pantries, and outreach meals served in partnership with St.

Johns Episcopal Church. We host social and spiritual events such as the ECM August Birthday Party, Mens Club gatherings, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry, which provides comfort to those in need. Our facilities are available for civic and social events, fostering connections beyond Sunday services. The church also offers yoga sessions, prayer groups, and opportunities for lay leadership, emphasizing holistic well-being and community involvement. Through these efforts, we strive to extend grace, support, and joy into the broader community, embodying our commitment to living fully in faith.

Community Garden
Our summer Community Garden initiative provides fresh produce to Feed My People Food Pantry. Volunteers gather Wednesdays at 6:00 PM to cultivate crops and build connections through service. This program exemplifies our commitment to addressing local food insecurity through hands-on community engagement.

Our music ministry features a Rogers Prestige organ, Steinway B grand piano, and hand chimes. The choir leads congregational singing and performs seasonal anthems, welcoming new members with basic pitch-matching ability. Rehearsals occur Sundays at 9:15 AM and seasonally on Saturdays with brunch.
Outreach Meals
We prepare and serve quarterly community meals at St. Johns Tower Grove. Volunteers donate time from 2-5:30 PM to cook and distribute food, extending our mission of service beyond church walls. This program strengthens ties with neighboring communities through shared meals.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry meets second Wednesdays at 1:00 PM to knit/crochet shawls infused with prayers. These comforting items are donated to individuals facing illness or hardship, providing tangible spiritual support. The group welcomes new members interested in combining craft with compassion.
