Eckerd College

Eckerd College inspires and empowers individuals to improve the world through mastery of self and a lifetime of learning. Our students are guided on a four-year journey of discovery, with small classes, professor-mentors, and a commitment to community service. Located on a spectacular mile-long waterfront and white-sand beach on Floridas Gulf Coast, we offer an innovative liberal arts and sciences education that emphasizes environmental stewardship and experiential learning. As one of only 45 Colleges That Change Lives, we prioritize individuality, diversity, and academic excellence. Our faculty, 98% of whom hold Ph.D.s or terminal degrees, foster close mentorship through open offices and shared spaces.

We combine rigorous academics with unique opportunities like our three-week Autumn Term orientation, Reflective Service Learning, and access to 300+ study abroad destinations. Our 188-acre campus, nestled along Boca Ciega Bay, serves as a living laboratory for sustainability and research. With 88% of students living on campus, we cultivate a vibrant community where learning extends beyond the classroom. Our graduates, who earn degrees in four years or fewer at a 90% rate, leave prepared to lead with critical thinking, problem-solving, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
