read moreSantos Sal Garcia was born and raised in East Los Angeles located in Southern California, graduated from local schools and started his photography business while attending East Los Angeles College. GPUSA was founded in 1965 by Santos "Sal" Garcia and over the years he has taken thousands of nature, scenic, sports, wedding and commercial photography for family, friends and clients. Today, Sal continues to photograph local coalition surfing events and contests along the California coastline. After his 1966 - 1967 Vietnam Army Aviation tour of duty Sal continued using his photography skills as a Law Enforcement Officer until 1981 when he retired due to job related injuries.
