read moreAt Ajo Veterinary Clinic we provide routine surgical services at the high standards set by The American Animal Hospital Association, (AAHA) by whom we are certified. We consider our anesthesia monitoring to meet the highest standard. We use a technician who has had advanced training in anesthesia monitoring. This person's job is to monitor the patient from induction, through surgery and recovery. Standard monitoring includes heart and respiration rate, blood pressure, Oxygen content of the blood or carbon dioxide production, body temperature and depth of anesthesia.

read moreWhen your pet is acutely and seriously ill, your veterinarian needs to be able to get diagnostic answers rapidly and accurately. This is where having the ability to do diagnostic laboratory testing in house becomes very important. Most of our lab testing is sent out to a commercial laboratory because it is cheaper than doing the work in house. However, the results take 24 hours or more depending on the test and day they are submitted. So we do have the ability to do most critical tests in house.

These call for using only the core vaccinations unless you are in an endemic area for some of the regional diseases. For Puppies, their first vaccinations should be a combination vaccine for distemper, parvo and hepatitis, given between 6 and 8 weeks of age and be boostered every 3 weeks until the puppy is 16 weeks of age. This is the time they are most susceptible to these frequently fatal diseases.
