Allen's Bar & Grill

Since 1955, Allen's has been an Athens institution. It began as a humble hamburger joint and has evolved into a family tradition and a legend. People from all walks of life have come in and out of those now famous red doors. Former Governor and US Senator, Zell Miller, worked at Allen's while he was a student at the University of Georgia. The B-52s put Allen's on the map and immortalized it with their song Deadbeat Club. It has been through some different owners and the original building has been demolished but the spirit of Allen's lived on.
