Bill Dennison began making patterns in his garage in 1978 while operating an aluminum and brass foundry for Lenco Equipment Company. By 1980 patternmaking became a complete time business and he opened a tiny shop in Lakeside, California and Patterncraft was born. Slower times came along in 1983-84 and the purchase of a fledgling foundry looked like an opportunity that could both enhance the patternshop and at the same time aid the aluminum foundry grow.
