Our corporate offices employ a full complement of support staff including administration, operations, estimating, project management, engineering, sales and customer service. A large shop blasting facility adjoins the building providing in-house painting and sandblasting services for our customers' portable equipment. Alpine is family owned and operated. Since our founding in 1975, our family has developed strong, lasting relationships with well-known facility operators throughout the region.
Sam Scaturro
read moreSam, the oldest son of Ben Scaturro, is the current President of Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University in 2000. Immediately after graduation, Sam started working at Alpine full-time as an Estimator and Project Manager. Today, Sam estimates the most complex industrial projects and oversees the financial direction of Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors. With Sam's background, he oversees updates with our quality and safety programs and ensures that "Safety is Priority One".
Besi Janova
read moreBesi is our newest Commercial Estimator. Before he joined Alpine, Besi worked in the construction industry and earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Besi has been training with Dave ever since he started, and has been working as a full-time Commercial salesman and estimator for Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors. He has worked on a variety of buildings including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and office buildings. Besi has also been active in the painting industry by being a member of the PDCA and attending the 2017 PDCA EXPO in San Diego.
Vania Schomp
read moreVania was welcomed to the Alpine team in 2000 and has been an essential part to our success. As the Controller, Vania manages payroll, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Human Resources, and works closely with Steve on the y/e financials and general ledgers for the company. Vania's first job consisted of working for a Heavy Highway contractor at the age of 21. That is where she found her passion in accounting. She went back to school and finally graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance.
Chet Zalusky
read moreChet joined Alpine in 2006 as one of our industrial project managers. Most of the projects he is involved with are elevated water tanks, structural steel painting, and pipeline painting. Some projects Chet worked on was the Rockland County Sewer District No. 1 Pipelines, and the Norwalk Elevated Water Tank. With his hard work and dedication to the company, Chet has won many awards. Some of them are the OSHA 2012 Eye Safety Award and the 2012 PDCA National Safety Silver award. Chet has also been active in the industry by being part of many organizations such as the NACE, the PDCA, and the SSPC.
Angie Castilla
read moreAngie joined the Alpine family back in January of 2019 as the Industrial Estimating Assistant. She works with Sam and Ben Jr in the Industrial department. Angie is very dedicated and has become a vital part of our team here at Alpine Painting and Sandblasting. In her free time, Angie enjoys cooking and spending time with her kids. We are very happy to have Angie be a part of our family!
Mitch Epstein
read moreMitchell has been one of our most recent additions to the team for 2017. Before joining Alpine, Mitchell gained experience through more than 30 years of hands on General Construction work, he also has experience working internationally. Some countries he visited were Panama, Columbia and Russia. In fact, much of his work was on schools, offices, and healthcare facilities for the Federal Government, which is why he is one of our commercial project managers. He has been certified with the SSPC such as the C-1 Fundamentals of Protective Coatings and QP-1 Quality Control Supervisor courses and is in the process of becoming certified as a NACE 1 Inspector.
Eric Alvarado
read moreEric is the newest addition to our financial department. Prior to joining the team in January 2018, Eric spent 5 years working at Charles H. Greenthal Management, first as an administrative assistant and eventually growing into the Accounts Payable Coordinator role. He then began working for FirstService Residential where he was responsible for the payables of over a thousand residential properties across the country. Eric's responsibilities now include the daily processing of invoices, corresponding with vendors regarding billing discrepancies, and assisting our financial controller with administrative tasks.
