Alta Mira Specialized Family Services. Is a 501c3 nonprofit that supports individuals with developmental risks, delays or disabilities and their families, to optimize quality of life. Alta Mira supplies developmental early intervention services for kids birth to age 3; inclusion training, support and consultation for child development centers; lifespan support services for people with developmental disabilities and their families; and respite services, including a respite home for short-term and family-crisis care.

read moreWe value the uniqueness of each individual and the family he or she is a part of. Our focus is to support the natural integration of an individual's daily life into that of their family and community. Many of our waiver services began a new requirement called Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) on January 1, 2021. EVV is federally mandated as part of the 21st Century Cures Act and requires six data points to be collected when services are provided. Alta Mira does not ask or require that everyone be vaccinated.

read moreAlta Mira is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1985 following the consolidation of two predecessor agencies, Albuquerque Special Preschool and Esperanza Para Nuestros Ninos. Both of these agencies were founded in 1968 by parents of children with developmental risks, delays and disabilities, to develop quality services within the community. Since 1985 Alta Mira has continued the work of these organizations. As the knowledge base for supporting families has changed over the years so has Alta Mira, but we have maintained the core values on which we were founded - client care and respect for families as experts.
