To take full advantage of these benefits, a private fleet was established with the intent to fully integrate the inbound movement of raw materials and the outbound movement of finished goods with the manufacturing process. The private fleet evolved into Amstan Trucking which was incorporated in 1974. As a for hire contract carrier regulated by the Interstate Commerce Commission, Amstan was able to offer its services to companies outside the American Standard family.
