This fall marks my thirty-7th year in the business of important, antique works on paper, paintings and rare books. This span of time has been one of constant discovery and enlightenment for me, and hopefully for my friends and customers, as such works of art can give the most poignant understanding of the times from which they originate. Even after 30 years, I often find myself enthralled by a map, a document, a book or a painting that literally and figuratively illustrates history.

Any work of art for which an appraisal is desired must be made available for inspection. Value is determined based on rarity, condition and fair market value. Appraisal fees are based on an hourly rate, including travel time and expenses for travel are additional. Material may be brought directly to our Philadelphia or New York Galleries for assessment. We will gladly offer a free verbal appraisal for any work brought to us within our field of specialty.
