1950: Atlas Copco AB created its 1st sales subsidiary in the US - Atlas Copco Pacific, located in California. In 1953, it moved E and was known as Atlas Copco Eastern. In 1980, the firm was renamed Atlas Copco. And finally received its present name, Atlas Copco North America, in 1987, after dissolving all of its operating assets. 1980: Atlas Copco Compressors. Holyoke, Mass. Was established after Atlas Copco AB purchased the U. S assets of Worthington Compressor. The strategy behind the purchase was to give Atlas Copco the capability of producing compressors in the US.
