August 1, 1958, brothers Bob and Earl Green opened B & E Meats in Burien. At the time, there were possibly 6 - 8 meat markets in Burien alone. Bob was 19 years old and Earl was 24. With hard work and youthful charm and energy, they speedily built a thriving business. April 1, 1975, Bob and Earl purchased an existing market (Ranch House Meats) in Des Moines and opened their 2nd location, B & E Meats and Seafood. Although things began out slow, things did pick up and soon B & E became a landmark and one of Des Moines oldest and finest known businesses.
