An evocative tale of the epic battle between nice and evil, Jekyll & Hyde is built on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his nice, Dr. Henry Jekyll unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of late nineteenth century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde. A wonderful range of music is featured in this Broadway hit.

read moreBackdoor Theatre is a non-profit community theatre. Our mission is to enrich, educate, and entertain the Greater Wichita Falls area through the performing arts. Backdoor has a reputation for producing high-quality Broadway-style productions. We have two stages, the Main Stage and Dinner Stage, which have produced over 600 productions and concerts. Theatre patrons entered through the door around back, which created the name "Backdoor Theatre". After a couple of years, we moved to a building at 10th and Travis, finally moving to our current location in 1976.

read morePLEASE NOTE - PERFORMANCE TICKETS: Online ticket sales end two hours prior to event start time for Main Stage events, and five hours prior to event start time for Dinner Stage* events. This is so that our staff has time to prepare front of house, as well as contact the caterer. This is an additional cost to your ticket price. You will have the option to purchase this service when reserving your tickets.

These are the ushers who helped you to your seat, the actors you see on stage, the backstage crew changing the scenery, your grandchild singing their first solo, the ones running the lights and sound, and the live band you hear on stage. However, the aspects of producing a show do not come free. The cost of licensing fees, set materials, costumes, props, musical scores, scripts, and professional advisers are large and growing. Your sponsorship will support and enhance our mission in our community.

read moreAt it's heart, Backdoor Theatre is a teaching theatre. The mission of Backdoor's Theatre School is to provide students of all ages (K-12th) with the means to actively explore the beauty, diversity, complexity, and challenges of the world around them through the dramatic process. We strive for our students to develop their own unique creative voice, their imagination and their understanding of drama and its role in society. We offer two programs throughout the year: Theatre School + Summer Theatre Academy.

When we weren't acting or working in the sound booth, we were in the audience enjoying productions with our friends.
