L. Gene Bearden and Gregory Bearden: dealers, makers and restorers of rare violins, violas, cellos and bows in St. Louis, MO. Bearden Violin Shop was established in St. Louis by P. C. Bearden in 1943 and founded a fine reputation for restoration and violin making. After his retirement in 1963, his son Gene Bearden, former violinist for the St. Louis Symphony, became the owner of the business and moved the shop to its present location. Gene Bearden started dealing in old master instruments including those of Stradivari, Guarnari.

We offer in-house repairs free of charge for all rentals and wear from normal usage is accepted. Full coverage insurance is recommended on all rentals. Customer should insure the lease instrument for all risk, no deductible. This type of insurance can be added to your homeowners insurance by "scheduling". Your insurance agent can help you with this.
