Bed & Breakfast-Grand Rapids
Hotel in Grand Rapids, MI
The Brayton House is a grand twenty-room Georgian Revival home. It is situated in the Grand Rapids' Heritage Hill District, an exceptional domestic area of over 1, 500 historic properties listed in the National Historic Register. A quiet and secluded man, James P. Brayton built his home in 1889. In addition to selling and buying lumber for himself, his signature was accepted as the last word regarding the value of standing lumber. Between 1920-1935, the home was owned by Stewart Foot, President of Imperial Furniture Company, which at one time was the biggest manufacture of quality tables in America.
