John Robert Johnson started JR Johnson in 1916 as a flower and vegetable growing business. JR Johnson grew and was later run by John's son John Richard Johnson. The business has continued to be a family- owned success over the years. In September 2007, JR Johnson was purchased by North Central Equity who created Midwest Horticulture to continue the rich tradition of JR Johnson Supply. Today JR Johnson is the leading provider for greenhouses, garden centers, nurseries, and landscapers.
