The grand tradition of Belleair Country Club golf started over a hundred years ago when Henry Bradley Plant, founder of the Plant system of railroads and Steamboats selected this site to construct a winter golf resort in 1897. He had six holes built with elevated greens, the surfaces of which were crushed seashells. Those six holes, no longer in existence, were situated on the Club's West Course in the general area of holes #1, 2 3 and 18. At that time, the fairways were rough with indigenous grass, as it was assumed that sophisticated grasses could not be grown in Florida.

read moreBelleair Country Club has seven har-tru clay tennis courts, all are lit for play well into the evening hours until 10:00 pm. These medium-speed, all-purpose tennis courts are much easier on the body than the more common "hard court" surfaces, enabling enjoyable, extended play. Multiple Tennis Pros offer lessons and camps for all ages as well as having a fully-equipped Tennis Shop. Quick pick-up games and tournaments are available throughout the year. Our Tennis Courts are an ideal place to connect with the tennis ball and to connect with other Club members.
