Bison, a Stock Building Supply firm, located in Houston, Texas, started modestly in 1962 as Roy W. Bierschwale's tiny retail store and lumber shed. Over the past 4 decades, Bison has evolved into Texas' single biggest independent provider of lumber, complete service millwork and other added value products. The city of Houston grew rapidly during the sixties, and much of this growth occurred to the N of town. Bison saw this as an opportunity to grow, , and in 1967 the firm opened its 1st facility seven miles S of Conroe, Texas.

Terrible Customer Service
I made a special order and when I drove across town to pick it up, it was the wrong thing. I spent two weeks trying to get someone on the phone to talk about. The operator is the only person you can talk to, and she is very rude. No one has ever returned any of my messages. I will never shop here again. Reported to BBB. Cannot call anyone directly. Only one location.
