The Hughes home built in 1918 by the Munger family was purchased by the Hughes family in the early 20's during the Mexia oil boom. J. K. Hughes added a South wing and front porch to the home as well as central heat and air (one of the 1st in this area) other additions to the home included the chapel and elevator.
