To keep a long story not so long, in the mid-seventies, I lucked upon a part time job that had me carrying a pager for a property management firm that managed three of the bigger apartment complexes in Norman. I picked up their daily deposits and took them to the bank. I was on call after hours to attend to noise complaints, lock the laundry facilities, aid locked-out tenants and alleviate parking problems to name a few of my responsibilities. It kept me busy but not as busy as having three or four part time jobs as in the past.

He soon decided that his part time job could be and needed to be a full-time business. He quickly concluded that not only was there a need for an armed patrol service, but he also should investigate starting to sell and install home security systems. As Norman grew so did the business. The business was built through making customers feel like they were friends, which they were.
