Brooks Associates Racing was established by staff owner John Brooks in the mid-1990s to field his own racing efforts. Following his retirement in 1999, the staff focused its attentions on drivers with a similar background to John's - underfunded drivers with potential. The staff's mission statement was to supply a quality effort at a cost-effective price. The staff won the Championship with Markus Niemela, following his wins at the two final races. 1st title win by a Finnish driver. Markus was named Rookie of the Year. Staff Engineer, Nick Harvey, was named Engineer of the Year.
