Rental Cottages
read moreOur goal is to offer our island visitors an atmosphere of friendly hospitality and relaxation, accommodation totally void of commercialization. Our Florida inn and rental cottage guests enjoy each other's company, nature, fishing, shelling on nearby deserted beaches, reading, writing, painting, boating, and - most of all - old Florida quiet and tranquility. I do a lot of lunch cruises and dolphin tours and Cabbage Key is my number one destination. The food is fantastic, staff are very friendly and the view from the island is amazing!
History of Cabbage Key
read moreAlthough legends, fish tales, and local folklore may state otherwise, this timeline helps tell the story of our beloved island, Cabbage Key. Which, depending on the year and who you ask, has also been referred to as Palmetto Key, Gill's Island, Rinehart's Island, Turner Cay and Cabbage Key Hide-Away Resort. Using newspaper and magazine stories, as well as federal, state and county documentation (and a few legends, fish tales, and stories told at our Dollar Bill Bar!), here's our best account of the fascinating history spanning from 100 B.C. to present.
