Cheerful New Year! On December 10, Baltimore Orioles farmhand and former Youse's Oriole Steven Johnson was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 2009 Rule 5 Draft, giving him a shot to become the 3rd Ripken League alumnus to make the Major Leagues when teams break camp next spring.
