Cambridge Youth Soccer
read moreHello CYS families, We are very happy and excited to announce that we are opening registration for fall soccer 2020 later this week. Details that we can share right now: Cambridge Youth Soccer will offer in-town "Cambridge City Leagues" for fall 2020, with the hope of offering both in town and travel teams in the BAYS league for spring 2021. We will not be fielding teams in BAYS this fall. Hello CYS families, Although there is still so much up in the air right now, we wanted to update you on the current planning for CYS soccer activities.
BAYS Travel Teams
read moreCambridge Youth Soccer teams participate in a travel league called BAYS (Boston Area Youth Soccer). We "level" our teams so that players are playing with teammates at a similar skill level, playing against teams from other cities and towns (usually within the I-495 beltway) also at a similar level. Teams are formed from two-year age groups, with 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, and 7th and 8th graders playing together. Therefore, the make up of teams changes every year. BAYS teams practice twice a week with one game per weekend, usually on Saturday.
Kick Start
read moreKick Start is designed for kindergartners. Our focus is having fun, playing small-sided 3v3 or 4v4 games with an emphasis on learning to love the ball. Teams and coaches are not assigned, but remain fluid from week to week. Soccer activities are directed by a head coach assisted by CRLS high school soccer players. All players will receive a t-shirt at the beginning of the program and a soccer ball at the end of the program. WHEN: Fall season runs from September to mid-November, and spring season is early April to mid-June.

With the proper uniform you will command more respect on the field. 8. On illegal throw-ins, let the players know what they are doing wrong in four words or less - be instructive. If you have a "referee" question on a call you made or think you should have made, submit the question to Referee Coordinator and we will get the answer for you. These questions getting answered is how you grow and learn to become a better ref.
