read moreAt Capitol School of Austin we give students with all types of communication challenges the chance to reach their full potential. Our dedicated staff provides a personalized approach which focuses on each student's strengths and individual development. CSA's language program is directed and staffed by licensed Speech Language Pathologists or Special Education teachers (most hold masters degrees), and is designed to provide intensive speech, language, and learning services. Most Speech Pathologists hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association and all are licensed by the State of Texas.

Prior to submitting your application, CSA recommends that parents attend a Visitors' Day to tour the school to better understand our unique therapy approach and how it may benefit your child. On Visitors' Day, parents will tour the school and observe two age-appropriate classes. Following the observations, parents meet with the school director for additional information about the program and an informal Q&A. Be sure to submit all requested information, including current speech and language reports, educational testing (FIE), neurological reports, or behavioral evaluations along with the $150 application fee and the release of information with the application.

Many families who are just becoming aware that their child might have developmental difficulties struggle to find a place to begin the diagnostic process. Further, they find it challenging to identify a clear path to follow after that process has begun. The Children's Clinic is a community resource where you can begin the process and we will help you find the recommended services.

Maintaining this standard of quality is impossible through tuition alone. It has been through the continuous support from community supporters that CSA has been able to help more than 850 children find their voice. At CSA, "every penny counts" isn't just something we say, it is a mantra we live by. Any donation, large or small, will go towards supporting programs, scholarships, campus improvement, technology, or other special projects.
