Her first school, La casa dei bambini, was opened to working class children in the slum neighborhood of San Lorenzo in Rome. Her approach was characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. read moreWe also offer (as part of our monthly tuition) six enrichment classes. These classes are Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Music, STEM, Computer Time, Physical Education and Nature Study (weather permitting). All of our classrooms have two children size restrooms for convenience. Each of our classrooms will have two guides, one Lead Directress (who holds an AMS or AMI Montessori certificate) and an Assistant Guide (who has child care experience, a college degree in a related field, and/or is a Montessori certified teacher).
