Medication Program
read moreSince 1993, the Central Ohio Nutrition Center has been in the forefront of the research on anti-obesity medications. The data has been presented at both national and international obesity research meetings. Current weight loss medications are generally classified as appetite suppressants or absorption blocking agents. An appetite suppressant is designed to reduce your feelings of hunger or to make you feel full sooner. When combined with a properly designed diet, this allows you to decrease the amount of food you are eating without constantly feeling hungry.
Surgical Program
read moreSurgical weight loss is usually a last resort option for those who are extremely overweight and have been unable to lose weight with other methods. Although our physicians do not perform bariatric surgery, we do offer pre-operative and post-operative nutritional support and counseling. Our role, and it is a critical one, is to prepare you for the surgery and help you adjust to the changes afterward. We also can provide you with the surgical referral when you are ready. The decision to pursue weight loss surgery is a very personal one.

Weight Loss Tips
read moreMarch 2019 marks the Central Ohio Nutrition Center's 40th anniversary. We began our journey in 1979 and have grown to offer our services at four offices city-wide. Forty years later, the obesity epidemic continues, and our on-going mission is to help those who struggle with obesity and the medical conditions associated with it. Have we made progress? We believe so. Although obesity continues to be a huge problem in this country, the science behind weight gain, treatment options, and the importance of patient follow-up are now so much better understood than they were 40 years ago.
