Raised in North Carolina to 1st-generation Chinese parents, she 1st began her persuit of health experience in Western medicine in the area of nursing. Her 1st experiences on a gastro-intestinal/liver/kidney medical floor led to her interests in traditional Chinese diet and herbs. Upon traveling to mainland China she was amazed by the breadth of application and use of acupressure and diet for health maintenance by relatives she visited in rural and urban settings.
