Charann's Tavern was opened in 1969 by Charlie and Ann Fisher. Charann's Tavern was originally situated on the Courtney Campbell Causeway (Highway 60) in Tampa, Florida. Charann's Tavern's original location, in an old cinder block building, with no indoor bathrooms, was situated directly on Tampa Bay about - mile from Tampa International Airport. Fishermen and carnival workers popularized and frequented the old tavern on the bay.
