Cherry Optical was established in 1977 with a location in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Later that same year we moved to a bigger location in Lincoln Park, Michigan. In May 2000, Cherry Optical moved to its present site in Melvindale, Michigan. Cherry Optical started and still operates as a family business. Richard Cherry is owner and manages Cherry Optical in Michigan. His son Dan Cherry manages the AR department and his daughter Debbie Mullins manages daily operations.

Cherry Optical has manufactured prescription lenses for optometrists and eye care professionals throughout the Midwest and East Coast, and as far west at Arizona. Our laboratory is one of few that can produce any digitally surfaced lens from Essilor, Kodak, & Shamir as well as our own in-house designs. Our state-of-the-art robotic facility links our surfacing, Anti-Reflective, and finishing rooms with a conveyor system, which increases our efficiencyand shortens turnaround time.
