For more than fifty years, the Children's Clinic has had a rich tradition of being one of the premiere suppliers of healthcare for the kids of South Texas. In 1952, Joseph Oshman, M. D. Recognized the need for affordable and accessible pediatric healthcare in the Coastal Bend. Dr. Oshman decided to relocate his family to Corpus Christi from Galveston and started building his practice. The Children's Clinic has served the community for more than fifty years. Our dedicated and experienced team of doctors, nurses and team are dedicated to delivering the finest medical care possible to the kids of South Texas.

read moreIn an effort to meet the needs of our patients, The Children's Clinic now offers an after-hours clinic for established patients for sick visits. Hours are from 6:00PM to 9:00PM Monday through Friday at our Alameda location on the 1st floor. Walk-ins are welcome. It is recommended that you contact our on-call physician to see if a visit to the office is necessary for your child. In some cases an office visit may not be necessary. To reach the on-call physician, please call (361) 855-7346.

Meet Our Team
read moreDr. Candas joined the Children's Clinic in 1994 after completing his Pediatric residency training at Driscoll Children's Hospital. He is a graduate of the University of Ankara Medical School and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Chief of Staff at Driscoll Children's Hospital. Dr. Candas continues serving in numerous quality improvement and assessment committees. He has also served as a board member of the Coastal Bend Blood Center since 2004.
