In an effort to bring close, individual service back to funeral service, Don Clary set out to open a new funeral home in Peoria. It was the 1st new funeral home to come to Peoria in 19 years. Clary Funeral Home opened, in our original location, on June nineteenth of 2005. Once settled, we started providing novel services that the existing funeral homes did not have. On September first of 2009, the funeral home was relocated to 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria. On October 26th of 2009, after extensive renovation of the 2nd floor.

The funeral home is now Cumerford-Clary and will operate at 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria. The two funeral homes have been under the same local ownership, through Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Homes, Inc. The decision to merge into one was based on facility size and new updates to the McClure Avenue location. The ability to focus resources on one building will allow us to continue serving our families to the best of our ability.

read moreThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. For eligible veterans that died on or after Nov. 1, 1990, VA may also provide a headstone or marker for graves that are already marked with a private headstone or marker. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
