Dr. Brooks opened Coastal Eye Care in 1988. His family history goes back in South Carolina for many generations. Dr. Brooks grew up in Charleston, graduated from St. Andrews Parish High School and The College of Charleston. He was accepted into the University of Alabama Medical Center's Optometry Program, one of 2 residents accepted from South Carolina each year.
