Acupuncture & Acupressure in Fort Collins, CO
Acupuncture & Acupressure in Fort Collins, CO My 1st experience with acupuncture and Chinese medicine was in the late 90's. I was working in a cigarette smoke environment and ended up with a deep chest cold. A roommate at the time insisted I go see her doctor. As we were going up the stairs I had no idea my life was about to change forever. Dr. Wang gave me acupuncture, tuina, and Chinese herbs and sent me on way. My cough and phlegm were gone in two days where most of my colleagues were living with symptoms for weeks.

read moreUsing Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, and other aspects of Eastern Medicine, we help bring you back to health and balance with minimal side effects. We take the mystery out of Acupuncture and teach you to use this ancient knowledge to stay healthy and vibrant. Acupuncture can help treat various kinds of pain, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and menopause discomfort, as well as gynecological, musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory issues. It can even be effective in smoking cessation. That being said, sometimes when a needle is being placed it can feel like a mosquito bite.
Services
read moreA large part of our studies includes Chinese Herbal Medicine. If you are looking for alternative options to prescriptions or you don't know what to buy at the supplement aisle, we're here to help. Chinese herbal medicine is not based on mainstream Western concepts of medical diagnosis and treatment. Rather, by using Chinese herbals (complex combinations of herbs, minerals, and plant extracts) practitioners seek to prevent and treat imbalances, such as those caused by cancer and other diseases. All the herbs, liniments, and patches used at Fort Collins Family Acupuncture are made by reputable companies and are safe and very effective.
Cupping
read moreWe explain cupping as the opposite of massage. Where with massage you are utilizing pressure to break up scar tissue, adhesions, or knots - cupping creates a suction to break up adhesion, old scar tissue, or knots. In that process it brings the stagnant blood to the surface of the skin allowing new blood to come to the tissue and begin healing the area. In addition to cupping being used to break up scar tissue and reduce muscle tightness, it may also treat various lung issues such as bronchitis, COPD, pneumonia or asthma.
Acupuncture
read moreAcupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems. Around the world, including in China, Korea, and Japan, acupuncture is used as primary care medicine which means it can be used to treat the whole body at a systemic level. When combined with the advancements of Western Medicine, people seem to have the most benefit to cover all their healthcare needs. At Fort Collins Family Acupuncture, we use the process of stimulating these acupuncture points of nerves, muscles and connective tissue as a way to boost your body's natural painkillers and increase blood flow.
