As their knowledge expands, preschool and elementary students learn to recognize and appreciate different cultures and ethnicities. Our multicultural curriculum promotes awareness, inclusion and an appreciation of various cultures, religions, beliefs, traditions, opinions, and ethnicities. The Community Parent Association committee on diversity is called the Parent Diversity Group.

Parents value the security our secluded campus provides and the nurturing environment our teachers create. With at least two full-time teachers in every 20-student classroom plus learning and math specialists, learning is truly child-focused and tailored to meet each student's unique strengths. Our research-based curriculum equips students with all the tools of exploration: mathematics and the sciences; social studies; literature; creative and expository writing; drawing, performance, and the rest of the arts; and an understanding of history and technology.

read moreEarly childhood is a period of profound opportunities to advance children's skills in reasoning, language acquisition, and problem solving. A high-quality early childhood education is the best investment in your child. Unlike many other schools, tuition includes books, school supplies, field trips, snacks and lunch. Tuition is payable in two installments, minus the enrollment deposit. The first installment is due May 15. The second installment is due December 15. As an alternative to these tuition due dates, a monthly payment plan can be arranged through the Business Office.

read moreCommunity School encompasses pre-kindergarten (starting at age 3) through sixth-grade. We believe in the distinct advantages a PK-6 school offers over a typical PK-12 school. Our program and environment focus on nurturing and supporting children during their most formative years. Community School's PK-6 model creates a solid foundation for your child's development and success. We encourage children to feel safe taking risks, exploring new activities, and challenging themselves. Our PK-6 model is different than the typical school method in that all of our resources are devoted to elementary education.

read moreOur teachers weave science, technology, engineering, arts and math content throughout the curriculum to help students recognize the relationships between subjects. Students learn to build connections and apply their knowledge in different settings-important skills for secondary school, college, and life. While STEAM may be a new acronym, it is nothing new at Community School. Our students-age three through grade six-explore a range of topics, from core STEAM subjects to writing, social studies, and foreign language.

read moreCommunity School is the place to let children's gifts flourish in an environment of active, experiential learning. Seasoned faculty engage students with a challenging curriculum integrating academics, the arts, physical education and interpersonal skills. Community students are responsible, caring and vibrant people who learn how to work with and lead others. We use our 18-acre campus every single day - for science, recess, P.E., nature walks, outdoor classtime, and more. Students build forts in the woods and play soccer on the grass.
