This program will supply a stable income for COOL to aid us meet present requirements and plan for the future. We would like you to join us in supporting the ministry of COOL as part of our Guardian Angels Program. read moreCOOL Ministries is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, was founded by people from six Lutheran Churches in the Waukegan/North Chicago area in 1982 and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1983. The First program was the COOL Food Pantry, opening its doors in January 1983. The pantry provides food for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with specialty foods for cardiac and diabetic diets. We offer ethnic foods and foods for those with allergies. Since the recession in this decade began visitation to the COOL Food Pantry has nearly doubled.

read moreCOOL operates two Food Pantries in Lake County serving food to thousands residents of Lake and McHenry County each month. Pantry visitors receive a four day emergency supply of groceries based on family size - enough food to make 12 balanced meals. Visitors can return once every 30 days if need continues. Proof of identity is requested for every household member. COOL Food Pantries serve food to over 3000 people each month. The pantries stock items for those with special dietary needs including sugar-free items, gluten-free, low salt, and baby items.
