read moreThe Crescent Lily Inn, located in historic downtown Colorado Springs, was built Queen Anne Style in 1898 by Major Robert Waugh for his family. A Civil War veteran and with the division of Virginia, Major Waugh participated in the formulation of Provisional Government for West Virginia in 1861. We have on display in our home, in his own handwriting and eloquent style, Major Waugh's story of his experiences in the Civil War. The Major married, had four children, and went on with his military career, receiving an appointment from President Harrison as Indian Agent in Utah.
