Dallas Black Dance Theatre celebrates its 33rd Season as the oldest, continuously operating professional dance firm in Dallas. Under the direction of Ann Williams, Founder/Artistic Director, the ensemble, a contemporary modern dance firm, consists of 12 professional, full-time dancers performing a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally known choreographers. Over the course of its history, DBDT has performed for 2. 5 million arts patrons and 1. 5 million kids worldwide (40, 000 annually youth grades K-12)

Art will always be relevant, and we want to explore the many ways dance can express this point. Ticket sales and other earned income account for less than 20% of the revenue Dallas Black Dance Theatre needs to cover the cost of performances, arts education, and community outreach.
Dancer Bios
read moreA native of Washington D.C., Claude comes to Dallas Black Dance Theatre after graduating from Towson University. He began his training with Spirit Wings Dance Co. and additionally with The Ailey School, Parsons Dance and DBDT's Professional Summer Intensive on full scholarship. Claude has had the opportunity to guest with Dishibem, Dance RINK, Ballet Frontier of Texas, Tuzer Ballet, and Dance Iquail. Notably, Claude performed in the 2017 Command Performance Gala by TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND. He has choreographed two ballets for Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Face what's facing you! (2018) and A Tender Pardon (2019).
