Dan's Super Market

Dan's Super Market. Was began in 1949 by Roy Rockstad and Eugene (Bus) Leary. Roy and Bus pooled their resources and bought the Piggly Wiggly store in Bismarck, North Dakota. This 1st store was named Bismarck Super Valu. In 1953 they added a 2nd location, Dan's Super Valu, in the Arrowhead Plaza in Bismarck. A 3rd Bismarck location was opened in 1970. The firm continued to expand with remodels and updates, new facilities and acquisitions. Today Dan's operates 6 stores in Bismarck, Mandan, and Dickinson North Dakota with over 600 employees.
