Diabetic Eye Care
read moreDiabetes is a condition in which the body's ability to process and store sugar is impaired. Approximately 16 million Americans have diabetes. Five million are at risk for vision loss because they don't know they have it. Diabetics are 25 times more likely to become blind than those without the disease. Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes caused by deterioration of blood vessels in the retina. The longer you have diabetes, the greater your chances are to develop this condition. At Discover Vision, we believe in developing a partnership between you, your primary care physician, and our doctors.
Cataracts
read moreThere is no treatment to reverse or prevent cataracts. To achieve clear vision, the cataract must be removed. When you reach the point that cataracts begin to interfere with your daily activities, you should discuss cataract surgery with your eye doctor. During cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is replaced with an artificial Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) to achieve clear vision. The procedure only takes a few minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis with local or "eye drop" anesthesia. Cataract surgery is a gentle, no-stitch procedure which is safe and effective.

Dry Eye
read moreDry Eye disease is a common condition which affects millions of people each year. This is a progressive condition where the eye's ability to produce healthy lubricating tears is reduced. Subsequently, dry eye may lead to potential cornea scarring and other serious eye damage. Dry Eye may seem counter intuitive to those who experience excessive watering or tearing of the eyes. In other words, it's a common misconception that if your eyes water, you could not have dry eye. However, watering of the eyes is a symptom of dry eye.
