
The effect of the sun on people's health is of immense importance. We need the sun because it is vital for our organism, our nerves, our skin, our blood, and the stability of our bones. There is no life without the sun. But life with too much sun is not nice either. It often takes very little to change a positive effect into a negative one. Therefore, any findings on photobiological processes have to be handled with great responsibility. It must be remembered that the beneficial properties of sunrays depend upon a 'healthy life' in general (i.e. Sufficient exercise, a balanced diet, etc.
