Drake Bank opened for business on May 1, 2002 as the 1st new chartered bank in the city of St. Paul in forty years. A local group of investors recognized a need for a new bank as they saw other local community banks being sold and merged with huge out-of-state banking conglomerates. They wanted to get back to delivering strong client service by experienced bankers. The Bank is situated at the SW corner of South Robert Street and Plato Boulevard across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Paul. The 80, 000 sq. Ft. Renovated building once was home to Drake Marble and Tile, Co.
