Dunwoody Prep gifts an environment where students are exposed to a rich balance of academic and social skills that afford them a bright future in an increasingly competitive world. Our entire child approach to child development and our specialty programs afford a true balance that few pre-schools and nurseries are able to achieve. We currently have the pleasure of watching kids grow up and graduate and then have the possibility to educate their little brothers and sisters. I was very (VERY) anxious about the transition both as a first time mom and because of the pandemic. And you guys have made it so much easier for me. I know she is in great loving and safe hands. Thank you for everything you are doing to keep the kiddos safe and still maintain the wonderful Dunwoody Prep atmosphere. It was very evident when our older children got to kindergarten that they had received a superior academic foundation at Dunwoody Prep.
read moreDunwoody Prep accepts new students primarily at the beginning of the June for our summer program and at the start of each academic school year which is early August. We will accept children throughout the school year if space permits. Our formalized process of admissions includes an Admissions Visit for children who will be in a 2-year-old and older classroom. This observation visit helps insure that children are placed in the classrooms that best fit their developmental age, level and learning styles.
read moreJane is a master educator who opened Dunwoody Prep to fill a need in our community for a quality early learning center with a home-like atmosphere. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master's of Arts in Teaching and taught in the gifted and talented program. She has participated in more than 40 years of annual professional development. Jane is proud of the reputation her school holds in the metro Atlanta area. She has built an amazing team at this small school which grew and grew yet remains the warm, nurturing program she dreamed of offering to Dunwoody families.

The day is balanced with teacher-led activities in both large and small groups. Our teachers guide and facilitate the learning process while developing an extensive individualized assessment for each child. The Teaching Strategies GOLD Individualized Child Portfolio is discussed in a formal conference with parents twice each school year.
read moreDunwoody Prep infants are cared for by a specific primary care teacher. Our home-like atmosphere is one where babies are rocked, cuddled and surrounded by love. Each child has their own crib as well as an individualized daily schedule and meal plan. Our professional teaching staff facilitates learning by promoting readiness skills as children grow and develop during their first year of life. A weekly music class is a wonderful enhancement to the program and is included for all children in the infant classroom.
read moreThe Dunwoody Prep Preschool building houses seven classrooms for children ages 3-5, our kitchen, offices, and rainy day room with Promethean Board. All classrooms have observation windows and adjoining bathrooms with child size toilets. Dunwoody Prep's Garden is surrounded by butterfly bushes, trees and flowers. The garden has benches, brick paths and includes a large water fountain and art created especially for our school. This serene space is used regularly by classrooms for outdoor learning.
