Dr. Mel Cleveland received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama (BS in Biology) He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where he received a degree in Physiological Optics (BS) and a Doctor of Optometry degree (OD) Since entering practice in 1980, Dr. Cleveland has served in the U. S. Army (Chief of Optometry, First Calvary Division, Fort Hood, TX) and in the U. S. Navy Reserve (NAS Dallas Fleet Hospital Unit) He is a clinican with expertise in contact lenses and ocular disease management. He is an optometric glaucoma specialist.
