We provide piano, guitar, violin, voice, drums, cello, electric bass, double bass, saxophone, flute, trumpet, songwriting, and various combinations of the above. Eclectic Music started in 2002 when I moved to Atlanta from my Maine hometown on a whim. Back then, I taught lessons out of a one-bedroom apartment on Greenwood Avenue (piano lessons in the bedroom, guitar lessons in the living room)

About Us
read moreA few hundred students and a few dozen teachers. Three intown studios (Virginia-Highland, Morningside, and in your home). Over a decade's worth of lessons, classes, parties, jam sessions, workshops, camps, recitals, and accidentally dropping picks inside of guitars. One singular vision: To be the best music school in Atlanta as measured by the strength of our community, the achievement of our students, and the joy of everyone involved. We believe effort is more important than talent, age is just a number, and the highest purpose of music is to uplift the human soul.
read moreMost students perform at 2-3 events each school year, and it is totally up to you and your family which dates and times you'd like to sign up for! Your teacher may also help you decide which events would be best. In the audience there will usually be parents, friends, and family of each student playing at that performance. Our performances usually last about 45 minutes to an hour and will have anywhere from 5-18 performers for each performance. All performers are Eclectic Music students with different teachers, instruments, and abilities - which makes for an engaging experience for performers and audience alike!
read moreThe human connection is very important in music lessons. The teacher and student have to be compatible in temperament and musical interests. The teacher has to be able to provide just the right degree of structure, rigor, and reward for each student. Our first step is choosing to work with versatile, experienced, personable teachers for whom music education is a priority. The very best teachers have established procedures that ensure success, yet they can adapt their approach to suit an individual student.
