Verifone recommends the battery for the Ruby be changed every three (3) years and the battery for the Sapphire Site Controller be changed every two (2) years while performing preventative maintenance. The life expectancy of the internal batteries in Verifone's? Ruby and Sapphire Site Controller will vary due to the environmental conditions existing at any install location. Battery replacement should be treated as a preventative maintenance item. Replacing this battery will reduce the risk of data loss, including any totals, operational programming and Ruby/Sapphire application upon the loss.
