What happens during an annual eye
read moreDuring a comprehensive eye exam, your vision is tested by an optometrist to obtain a new glasses prescription. The optometrist will also do basic checks and screenings, such as dilation, to make sure that your eyes are healthy. First, you will work with a technician who will gather medical history, allergies, family history, and any current medications. It is imperative to make them aware of any medical issues like diabetes or glaucoma that you or your family may have, that could affect the health of your eyes/vision.
What is good Customer Service in
read moreCustomer service is a subject that all businesses must address. The definition of customer service varies from one organization to another. In my opinion there are several areas that must be addressed to provide outstanding customer service. Secondly, we as practitioners and staff must realize that people can go where ever they want to have their services provided. Patients are a valuable resource with real wants, needs and desires. Patient education is critical. We must focus on patients as individuals and make recommendations based on what is in their best interest.

Apples to Apples
read moreI'm sometimes asked why eyeglasses are so expensive. Fortunately, with a little explaining and education on the quality and value behind the product, most patients understand that they are getting an exceptional deal at See NC Eyecare in Raleigh, NC. However, there are a few folks that still just don't seem to understand the difference between making a purchase for very good quality eyewear at a great price, and buying cheap, poor quality glasses for a cheap price. Why would you not want to invest in better or even the best quality for something you depend on and rely on, on a daily basis?
Do Your Health Spending Benefits
read moreSome of us are fortunate enough to have insurance to help with medical needs. Some of us are even more fortunate and have a Health Savings Account that we contribute pre-tax money to, to help pay for medical expenses. These accounts not only save you tax free money, but are available for all of your medical spending. Most people are aware of using their benefits card to pay for co-pays for doctor visits and medications. However, some people are unaware that eye exams, contact lens exams, eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses all qualify for their medical spending as well.

Eye Allergies
read moreSpring is coming and with the change of seasons many people begin to experience the symptoms of eye allergies. This is a result of the increase in pollen that comes with booming plants, grass growth and budding of leaves on the trees. Eye allergies, also known as allergic conjunctivitis, occur when something that you are allergic to irritates the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is a delicate membrane that covers the eye and the inside of the eyelid. Allergic conjunctivitis occurs when your immune system identifies an otherwise harmless substance as an allergen.
